Tefesehet Hailu is a professional who believes in evidence-based critique. She has extensive work experience in developing, proposing, and conducting effective research. Her education and work experience have provided her with a strong foundation to critically analyse complex legal and policy issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the course of her seven-year career, Tefesehet has worked for organizations such as the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), the African Union Commission’s Office of the Legal Counsel, and the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL). She has also contributed as a pro-bono advocate for a human rights project and as a retained lawyer for a foreign company where she dealt with numerous cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Tefesehet has worked with civil society organizations that prioritize research-based advocacy and policy proposals. She has actively participated in research projects, seeking to enhance her research skills and contribute to ground-breaking research projects as well as advocacy initiatives that lead to equitable and just policies in human rights, maritime security, the rule of law, and good governance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tefesehet received her Bachelor of Law Degree from Addis Ababa University (AAU) and an LL.M in International Maritime Law from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI). <\/span><\/p>\n
